- No Referral Needed to Start:Â You do not need a medical doctor’s referral to begin your initial physiotherapy assessment under an active WorkSafeBC claim, although having your doctor involved is always beneficial for your file.
- Early Intervention Matters:Â Seeking care as soon as possible after a workplace injury significantly improves long-term outcomes and reduces downtime.

What to Expect During Physiotherapy Rehabilitation
Our approach prioritizes active recovery, practical education, and functional restoration:
1. Comprehensive Initial Physio Assessment
Your physiotherapist will conduct an in-depth physical assessment examining your range of motion, strength, joint mobility, posture, and job-specific movement demands. We also discuss the physical requirements of your job to build an accurate baseline.
2. Tailored Physiotherapy Treatment Plan
Every injury and occupation is different. Your rehabilitation program is customized to your needs and may include:
- Targeted Exercise Therapy:Â Strengthening, mobility, and stability exercises designed to rebuild functional capacity.
- Manual Therapy & Soft Tissue Work:Â Techniques to relieve acute pain, reduce joint stiffness, and facilitate movement.
- Ergonomics & Movement Re-Education:Â Learning safe lifting techniques, workstation adjustments, and posture cues to prevent re-injury.
- Pacing & Self-Management Strategies:Â Practical tools you can apply daily at home and on the job.
3. Clear Communication with WorkSafeBC
We handle all required clinical reporting and communicate directly with your WorkSafeBC adjudicator or case manager. We provide timely progress updates to ensure your claim remains supported while you transition safely back to full or modified duties.
