Hurt in a car accident? ICBC pre-approves up to 25 physiotherapy sessions in the first 12 weeks after your crash. No doctor’s referral or ICBC approval is needed. We direct bill ICBC, and there is no charge to you for ICBC physiotherapy at our clinic.
What to bring
- Your ICBC claim number (report your claim to ICBC first; ICBC treatment information)
- Your BC Services Card / Personal Health Number
- The date of your accident
Your physiotherapist
Bhavin Patel, Registered Physiotherapist (MPT), sees ICBC patients on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Physiotherapy after a car accident often covers:
- Whiplash and neck stiffness
- Back pain and sciatica
- Concussion, headaches and dizziness
- Shoulder, hip and knee injuries
What if I need more than 12 weeks?
Bhavin can send a treatment plan to your ICBC recovery specialist to ask for more sessions. ICBC may ask for a doctor’s referral at that point.
Other ICBC treatments at our clinic
Massage therapy (12 sessions), chiropractic (25), acupuncture (12) and counselling (12) are also pre-approved in the first 12 weeks, and you can book them back-to-back in one visit. See all ICBC treatment details and costs.
ICBC Physiotherapy FAQs
Do I need a referral?

Is there any cost?
No. ICBC physiotherapy at our clinic is fully direct billed to ICBC.
My accident was more than 12 weeks ago. Can I still come?
Yes, but ICBC needs to approve treatment first. Bring your claim number, your ICBC adjuster’s contact information and a current doctor’s referral.
Can I see a massage therapist the same day?
Yes. Many patients book physiotherapy and ICBC massage therapy back-to-back.
